Job summary

Lowes Petroleum is seeking a Depot Manager for the Quilpie Depot to oversee day-to-day operations, staff supervision, and logistics coordination in a regional Australian setting.

The role requires experience in the heavy vehicle or fuel industry, strong understanding of Fatigue Management and Chain of Responsibility, and excellent stakeholder communication. You will lead a small team, ensure safety and efficiency, and maintain strong community relations.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy vehicle or fuel industry preferred.
• Knowledge of Fatigue Management and Chain of Responsibility legislation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Daily operational management & supervision of depot staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
• Stock administration and reconciliation.
• Coordinate logistics, transportation, and delivery schedules with other departments.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Comply with external regulatory requirements relevant to the depot.
• Handle customer inquiries, issues, and complaints professionally.

About the role:

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, this position will be accountable for the safe and reliable day to day operational management of the QuilpieDepot.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily operational management & supervision of depot staffincluding recruitment, training, and performance management
• Responsible for administrationand reconciliationof stock
• Collaborating with other departments to coordinate logistics, transportation, and delivery schedules
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Comply with all external regulatory requirements – including BFM
• Handling customer enquiries, issues, and complaints in a professional manner

The successful applicant will require:

• Previous experience in heavy vehicle &/or fuel industry an advantage
• Proven understanding of Fatigue Management, Mass Management, Quality Assurance and Chain of Responsibility legislation
• Sound Microsoft Office skills and attention to detail
• Effective communicator with proven record of building & maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Confident decision-maker with ability to work autonomously & lead a team within a diverse logistics operation
• Well-developed organisational, problem solving and time management skills
