Job summary

Bunnings is seeking a Department Manager in Australia to lead a large team and oversee daily operations, sales, and stock within a specialist area. You will report to the Operations Manager and Complex Manager, guiding a 20+ strong team to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain the widest range and best prices.

You will monitor customer service levels, collaborate with Merchandising, Store Leadership and Health & Safety, and engage suppliers to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Ability to develop teams and drive safety culture.
• Experience in high-volume retail environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 20+ to maintain an engaged and safe work environment, including opening and closing the store on a rotating schedule.
• Build team capability on Best Experience and Safety Culture & Compliance, including coaching and recognition.
• Rostering and strategic planning to deliver on service promises and sales targets.
• Drive department sales via merchandising and monitoring key metrics.
• Act on customer feedback to improve the end-to-end experience.
• Own department stock accuracy including replenishment and loss prevention.
