Job summary

1300SMILES Rockhampton is seeking a motivated and reliable Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our established team in a permanent full-time role. You’ll work across both the surgery and front desk, gaining broader experience and a strong understanding of how a dental practice operates.

Previous dental experience is preferred, but we’re happy to train someone with a strong background in reception or customer service.

Qualifications

• Dental Assistant or Reception experience preferred.
• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting or willingness to work toward one.
• Strong communication and patient-focused approach.
• Reliable, team-focused and able to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists and oral health therapists chairside during treatment.
• Prepare treatment rooms and set up instruments before appointments.
• Sterilise instruments and follow infection control protocols.
• Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable during visits.
• Manage appointment bookings, recalls and patient records.
• Answer calls and patient enquiries.
• Support patients with questions about appointments, treatment and payments.
• Assist with general administration across the practice.
• Collaborate with clinical and reception teams to ensure a smooth patient experience.
