Garden City Dental Practice Toowoomba is seeking a skilled Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our team on a full-time basis in Toowoomba, QLD. You will be the first point of contact for patients, assisting dentists and managing reception duties to ensure a welcoming and efficient practice.

The ideal candidate will have experience in dental assistance or healthcare administration, strong communication skills, and a commitment to infection control.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a dental assistant or similar clinical support role is preferred.
• Experience in a reception or administrative role, ideally within a healthcare setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, team members and external contacts.
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency with dental practice management software and general computer skills.
• A keen eye for detail and accuracy when handling patient records and appointments.
• The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and sterilisation protocols.
• A friendly, patient-focused attitude and genuine interest in providing excellent customer service.
• Flexibility and willingness to support the broader practice team as required.

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records.
• Assisting dentists during clinical procedures by preparing treatment areas and sterilising instruments.
• Taking and processing patient payments and handling billing enquiries.
• Answering telephone calls and managing patient communications professionally.
• Maintaining confidentiality and complying with healthcare regulations and data protection standards.
• Preparing dental materials and equipment for procedures.
• Managing the reception area to ensure it remains clean, organised and welcoming.
• Assisting with administrative duties including ordering supplies and maintaining inventory.
• Supporting the practice team to ensure quality patient care and positive patient experiences.
