Job summary

Shire Dental Centre in Sydney's Sutherland Shire is seeking a Part-Time Dental Assistant to join our modern, well-equipped practice. You will support dentists across procedures, prepare rooms, manage instruments and maintain infection control.

We value a friendly, detail‑oriented team player with at least 1 year of experience; implant/orthodontic exposure is a plus. This is a 3–4 day per week role with competitive pay and ongoing learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant
• Ability to work collaboratively with dentists and team
• Knowledge or experience in Implant and Orthodontic treatments is highly regarded but not essential

• Assisting dentists during a variety of dental procedures while maintaining a clean and organised clinical environment
• Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring instruments and materials are ready for procedures
• Cleaning, sterilising, and maintaining dental instruments according to infection control standards
• Adhering to safety protocols and infection control procedures
• Providing compassionate support to patients before, during, and after treatment

What you’ll be doing

• Assisting dentists during a variety of dental procedures while maintaining a clean and organised clinical environment
• Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring all instruments and materials are ready for procedures

• Adhering to all safety protocols and infection control procedures
• Providing compassionate support to patients before, during, and after treatment

What we’re looking for

• A friendly, positive attitude and strong team-player mindset
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant (required)
• Ability to work collaboratively with dentists and other team members
• Knowledge or experience in Implant and Orthodontic treatments (highly regarded but not essential)
• Availability to work 3–4 days per week (including flexibility where needed)
