Job summary

1300SMILES Cairns Central is seeking an experienced part-time Dental Assistant in Cairns to provide chairside support and help keep appointments running smoothly.

You will prepare treatment rooms, instruments and equipment, sterilise in line with infection control requirements, and assist with a wide range of treatments including general, preventative and cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics and extractions while supporting a calm and welcoming patient experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting, or equivalent experience
• Sound knowledge of sterilisation and infection control procedures
• Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures and practice software
• A calm and friendly approach when working with patients
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills
• The ability to work efficiently in a busy clinical environment
• A reliable, team-focused approach and clear communication skills

Responsibilities

You’ll support a variety of treatments including general, preventative and cosmetic dentistry, as well as clear aligners, orthodontics, emergency care and wisdom teeth extractions. This is a great opportunity to use your existing experience while continuing to build your skills within an established practice.
