Job summary

1300SMILES Cairns Central is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to join our established Cairns practice. You’ll provide chairside support across general, preventative and cosmetic dentistry, including aligners and extractions, while helping the clinicians run a smooth clinic.

You’ll prepare treatment rooms, sterilise instruments and maintain infection control, keep areas clean and stocked, and support patients to feel comfortable throughout their visit.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Dental Assisting or 2+ years experience.
• Knowledge of sterilisation and infection control procedures.
• Familiarity with dental terminology and practice software.
• Calm, friendly approach with patients; detail-oriented.
• Able to work efficiently in a busy clinical environment.
• Reliable, team-focused with clear communication.

Looking for part-time Dental Assistant work in Cairns? Join the team at 1300SMILES Cairns Central.

We’re looking for an experienced Dental Assistant who is confident chairside, works well with clinicians and takes pride in keeping the clinical area organised and running smoothly.

You’ll support a variety of treatments including general, preventative and cosmetic dentistry, as well as clear aligners, orthodontics, emergency care and wisdom teeth extractions. This is a great opportunity to use your existing experience while continuing to build your skills within an established practice.
