Job summary

1300SMILES Gladstone is seeking a Casual Dental Assistant who is keen to learn chairside, support clinicians and join a friendly, experienced team. No prior experience required—training is provided within a supportive practice.

You’ll work across a Monday–Saturday roster with shifts typically from 7:45am to 5:15pm, gaining valuable dental experience while fitting around other commitments. Training will be on the job, with room to grow within Abano Healthcare.

Qualifications

• Warm, approachable manner and patient-friendly demeanour.
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Strong communication skills and team-focused approach.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Availability to work across the Monday to Saturday roster.
• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting, or previous dental experience, is highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting dentists and clinicians during procedures and with patient care.
• Preparing and maintaining treatment rooms and equipment.
• Sterilising instruments and following infection control procedures.
• Helping patients feel comfortable and cared for.
• Keeping the clinical environment clean, organised and ready for patients.
• Supporting the wider practice team with administrative tasks when required.
