Job summary

1300SMILES Cairns Central is seeking an experienced part-time Dental Assistant to join our busy practice. You’ll provide hands-on chairside support across general, preventative and cosmetic dentistry, while keeping rooms prepared, instruments ready and the environment clean.

You’ll collaborate with clinicians, reassure patients and help the team run smoothly. A Certificate III/IV in Dental Assisting or 2+ years of experience is preferred; part-time hours are from 8:15am to 5:15pm.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting or 2+ years of dental assisting experience.
• Sound knowledge of sterilisation and infection control procedures.
• Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures and practice software.
• Calm and friendly approach when working with patients.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy clinical environment.
• Reliable, team-focused communication.

Responsibilities

Looking for part-time Dental Assistant work in Cairns? Join the team at 1300SMILES Cairns Central.

We're looking for an experienced Dental Assistant who is confident chairside, works well with clinicians and takes pride in keeping the clinical area organised and running smoothly.

You'll support a variety of treatments including general, preventative and cosmetic dentistry, as well as clear aligners, orthodontics, emergency care and wisdom teeth extractions. This is a great opportunity to use your existing experience while continuing to build your skills within an established practice.

As a Dental Assistant, you'll provide hands-on chairside support and help keep appointments running smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:
