Job summary

1300SMILES Gladstone is seeking a Casual Dental Assistant to learn chairside, support clinicians and join a friendly, experienced team.

Whether you’re newly qualified or new to dental, we’ll train the right person. The role covers a Monday to Saturday roster with typical shifts 7:45am–5:15pm.

You’ll learn on the job, receive support to succeed and have room to grow across the Abano Healthcare network in a welcoming practice.

Qualifications

• Warm, approachable manner and ability to put patients at ease.
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Availability to work across the Monday to Saturday roster.
• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting, or previous dental experience, is highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting dentists and clinicians during procedures and with patient care
• Preparing and maintaining treatment rooms and equipment
• Sterilising instruments and following infection control procedures
• Helping patients feel comfortable and cared for
• Keeping the clinical environment clean, organised and ready for patients
• Supporting the wider practice team with administrative tasks when required
