Job summary

St Ives Dental Group is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our team on a casual basis. You will work closely with dentists and the wider team across general dental procedures, gaining hands-on experience in a modern practice.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is essential.
• A Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Capability to address patient concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Greeting patients and ensuring their comfort.
• Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise instruments, assist during examinations and procedures.
• Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies and keep treatment room stocked.
• Patient Education: Provide post-operative care instructions and oral hygiene guidance.
• Team Collaboration: Work with dentists, hygienists and staff for smooth workflow.
• Compliance: Follow safety, infection control protocols and regulatory requirements.

About the position:

St Ives Dental Group is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Dental Assistant to join our team on a casual basis.

This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work closely with our dentists and wider team across a variety of general dental procedures. No two days are exactly the same, so it’s a great opportunity to keep building your skills, broaden your dental knowledge and be part of a team that genuinely enjoys working together.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.


• Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organised treatment area.


• Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well‑stocked and organised.


• Patient Education: Provide patients with post‑operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.


• Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.


• Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.
