Totally Smiles Pakenham is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our welcoming team on a full-time basis, with shifts across Monday to Saturday. We operate a modern 4-chair practice focused on patient-centered care in a busy, friendly environment.

Join our supportive team and contribute to a wide range of general and cosmetic treatments, while ensuring exceptional patient experiences and efficient workflow in a central Pakenham location.

Qualifications

• Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior experience with EXACT dental software program is beneficial.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and prepare them for procedures.
• Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organised treatment area.
• Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.
• Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.

About the position:

Totally Smiles Pakenham is currently seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our welcoming team on a full-time basis. We are open Monday to Saturday, so shifts will be rostered across these days.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.


• Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organised treatment area.


• Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.


• Patient Education: Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.


• Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.
