Job summary

Serco is seeking a caring Dental Assistant to support Defence members at Amberley Health Centre. This permanent part-time role offers Monday, Tuesday and Thursday shifts from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, working in a professional, team-focused environment with Dentists and Hygienists.

You will assist chair-side, prepare equipment, promote oral health, and maintain infection control while handling patient records and administrative tasks. Australian citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Dental Assisting is required.
• 2 years chair-side experience in a dental setting preferred.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Strong infection control and clinical standards knowledge.
• Excellent communication and team-focused approach.

About The Health Centre

Amberley Health Centre, located at RAAF Base Amberley - the largest Air Force base in Australia, just 50 minutes from Brisbane. The centre delivers healthcare services to over 6,500 RAAF members and includes primary medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, and mental health care. The standard operating hours are 07:30 - 15:30 Monday - Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).

Australian citizenship is a mandatory requirement for this role.

What You’ll Do

• Working Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 0700 to 16:00 on a permanent part time contract


• Supporting dental procedures through chair-side assisting


• Preparing and maintaining clinical equipment and treatment areas


• Promoting oral health and supporting patient care


• Maintaining infection control and hygiene standards


• Managing patient records and supporting administrative tasks

What You Bring

• Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent qualification


• 2 years chair-side experience in a dental clinical setting


• Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certification


• Strong understanding of infection control and clinical standards


• Great communication skills with a caring, team-focused approach
