Job summary

Serco is looking for a caring and organised Dental Assistant to support Dental clinicians in providing high-quality care to Defence members. This role is based at the Williamtown Health Centre and involves chair-side assisting, maintaining clinical equipment, and supporting patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate III in Dental Assisting, strong communication skills, and two years of chair-side experience. This position offers a supportive team environment with predictable hours and meaningful work.

Qualifications

• 2 years chair-side experience in a dental clinical setting.
• Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certification.
• Strong understanding of infection control and clinical standards.

About Williamtown Health Centre

Williamtown Health Centre is located 30km north of Newcastle at RAAF Base Williamtown, Australia’s premier fighter pilot training base. The base is one of the busiest in New South Wales, employing over 4500 people. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical services. Standard operating hours are generally 0730‑1530 Mon‑Fri (depending on role requirements).

What You’ll Do

• Supporting dental procedures through chair‑side assisting
• Preparing and maintaining clinical equipment and treatment areas
• Promoting oral health and supporting patient care
• Maintaining infection control and hygiene standards
• Managing patient records and supporting administrative tasks

What You Bring

• Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent qualification
