Job summary

Serco is seeking a Dental Assistant for Kapooka Health Centre in Wagga Wagga, NSW. The role is a 0.6 FTE position within a multidisciplinary health team providing care to Australian Defence Force personnel in a unique primary healthcare setting.

Responsibilities include chair-side assisting, equipment prep, infection control, and patient records management. Standard hours are Monday–Friday, with potential on-call shifts depending on needs.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent qualification is required.
• Minimum 2 years chair-side experience in a dental clinic.
• Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certification.
• Infection control and clinical standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support dental procedures through chair-side assisting.
• Prepare and maintain clinical equipment and treatment areas.
• Promote oral health and support patient care.

About The Health Centre

Kapooka Health Centre & Clinic are approximately 10 minutes outside of Wagga Wagga within the Kapooka Military area located at Blamey Barracks. All soldiers in the Army complete Basic Training here, known as the “Home of the Soldier”. These health facilities support the Army Recruit Training Centre (ARTC). It has a 50-bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7. Services provided include primary medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy. Health Centre staff may be required to work across Wagga & Kapooka. Standard hours of operation are generally 0700-1600 Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).

This role is primarily Monday to Friday (day shift) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

After-hours, weekend and on-call shifts may be required depending on role requirements and base location.

What You Bring

• Great communication skills with a caring, team-focused approach
