Job summary

Serco is seeking a caring Dental Assistant to support dental clinicians at the Singleton Health Centre within the Defence environment. You will work Monday to Friday, assisting chair-side, preparing equipment and maintaining infection control, while promoting oral health.

Join a civilian role on base with free parking, uniforms, and wellbeing support, contributing to high-quality care for Defence personnel in a professional team setting.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent.
• Two years chair-side experience in a dental setting.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Strong infection control and clinical standards understanding.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

About The Singleton Health Centre

Located at the Singleton Military Area, approximately 1 hour NW of Newcastle. This Army base is where infantry soldiers complete their initial employment training. The health centre provides primary medical, nursing, dental, physiotherapy, mental health and pharmaceutical services. Standard operating hours are Monday – Friday 0730-1530

What You’ll Do

• Working Monday to Friday 0700 to 1630
• Supporting dental procedures through chair‑side assisting
• Preparing and maintaining clinical equipment and treatment areas
• Promoting oral health and supporting patient care
• Maintaining infection control and hygiene standards
• Managing patient records and supporting administrative tasks

What You Bring

• Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent qualification
• 2 years chair‑side experience in a dental clinical setting
• Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certification
• Strong understanding of infection control and clinical standards
• Great communication skills with a caring, team‑focused approach
