Job summary

Dental Design Co in Epping, Melbourne, is seeking a proactive Dental Assistant to join our established practice. You will work alongside experienced clinicians, provide chairside support across a broad range of procedures, and help ensure our days run smoothly.

You will manage clinical prep, infection control and charting, while anticipating clinicians' needs and contributing to a welcoming patient experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Dental Assisting or 1–2 years of experience.
• Experience in a busy dental practice.

Job description

You'll join an established, modern dental practice in Epping, working alongside experienced clinicians across a broad range of dentistry. You'll play an important role in ensuring our clinical days run smoothly, our dentists are properly supported and every patient receives the care and attention they deserve. We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities, notices the small things and doesn't wait to be asked when something needs attention.

Key responsibilities

Chairside assistance: Supporting clinicians across general, restorative, crown and bridge, root canal, dentures, hygiene and implant procedures.

Clinical preparation: Ensuring surgeries, instruments, equipment and materials are organised and ready before patients arrive.

Infection control: Maintaining excellent sterilisation, instrument reprocessing and infection prevention standards.

Clinical documentation: Assisting with charting, laboratory requests, consent documentation and medical history updates.

Forward planning: Reviewing upcoming appointments and anticipating what clinicians will need.

Patient experience: Helping patients feel welcomed, comfortable and cared for throughout their visits.

Teamwork: Supporting fellow Dental Assistants and communicating effectively with clinicians, front desk and management.

Accountability: Taking responsibility for your work and following through on what needs to be done.

About you

Certificate III in Dental Assisting or 1–2 years of dental assisting experience.

Experience working in a busy dental practice.

Strong infection control knowledge.
