Job summary

Coastal Dental Care Redland Bay is a busy dental practice seeking an experienced Dental Assistant on a casual basis to cover leaves and busy periods. You will work with different dentists, performing chairside support and ensuring patient comfort from start to finish.

Hours vary and include Saturdays; the role offers flexible rosters and potential move into part‑time. Start in early November with a supportive local team within a respected regional network.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in a dental assisting role.
• Confident chairside support across a range of procedures.
• Strong infection control and sterilisation knowledge.
• Caring, professional and patient-focused approach.
• Excellent attention to detail and reliability.
• Willingness to keep infection control and first aid qualifications current.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and closing treatment rooms, and keeping the surgery and sterilisation area neat and compliant.
• Assisting dentists chairside: passing instruments, preparing materials and processing digital X-rays.
• Sterilising and reprocessing instruments, and keeping infection control records up to date.
• Looking after patients from the moment they sit down until they head back to reception.
• Helping manage stock levels in the surgeries and general practice admin.

Job description

Coastal Dental Care Redland Bay is a busy, well-established practice co-owned by Dr Ankit Wadhawan and Dr Noopur Sharma, with a team of ten dentists and a practice support team who look after each other as well as our patients.

We're part of a dentist-owned network of 18 practices across South East Queensland and Northern NSW, but each practice runs like your local: patients we know by name and a team that actually knows each other.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join us on a casual basis. You'll be the person we can count on when we need an extra pair of hands: covering annual leave and sick days, Saturdays and our busier weeks.

You’ll work with different dentists from one shift to the next, so we need someone who's confident chairside from day one and can adapt quickly to how each dentist likes to work.

Hours vary week to week depending on patient bookings. The practice is open Monday to Saturday (Saturdays 8am to 1pm), and we need you to be available across those days. If you’d rather have flexible work than a fixed roster, this could suit you well. We're aiming for a start in early November.

• Willingness to keep infection control and first aid qualifications current

Preferred

• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting
• Familiarity with Dental for Windows (D4W) or similar software
• Dental reception experience is advantageous
