Job summary

Coastal Dental Care in Kingscliff is seeking a casual Dental Assistant to join our practice, working chairside with a new Dentist and supporting sterilisation and reception duties as needed. Up to 30+ hours per week for the right person within our Gold Coast/Northern NSW network.

You will prepare patients, set up rooms to protocol, maintain sterilisation records, and help with post-operative care and patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Experience in sterilisation and infection control protocols.
• Experience assisting with implant and/or oral surgery procedures.
• Clear, calm communication with patients and the team.
• Professional presentation and up-to-date immunisations.

Responsibilities

• Run the sterilisation room following protocols and keep digital records.
• Set up and turnover treatment rooms, instruments and materials to protocol.
• Prepare patients for treatment and help them feel comfortable.
• Support post-operative instructions and patient care after procedures.
• Provide reception assistance when needed, if experienced.

About the role

This is a casual Dental Assistant role at our Kingscliff practice, with up to 30+ hours most weeks for the right person. You'll work chairside with a new Dentist that is joining the practice. We're looking for an assistant who's comfortable in the sterilisation room and confident supporting general dentistry procedures: someone who knows what's needed and has a desire for patients to receive the best care.

What you'll be doing

• Run the sterilisation room: clean, package, sterilise, store, and keep accurate digital records
• Set up and turn over treatment rooms, instruments and materials to protocol
• Prepare patients for treatment and help them feel comfortable throughout
• Support with post-operative instructions and patient care after surgical procedures
• Help out at reception when needed, if that's an area you've worked in before

What we're looking for

• Experience in sterilisation and infection control protocols
• Experience assisting with implant and/or oral surgery procedures
• Clear, calm communication with patients and the team
• Professional presentation and up-to-date immunisations

Preferred

• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting, or working towards one
• Experience in dental reception or front-desk duties (desirable but not necessary)
• Working knowledge of Dental4Windows (D4W)
• Casual role with real room to build to 30+ hours most weeks
