Job summary

Sea World Resort on the Gold Coast is seeking a passionate Demi Chef to join our fast-paced kitchen. You’ll help prepare, cook and present high-quality dishes to resort standards while working with a talented team to deliver memorable dining experiences for guests.

With a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and hands-on kitchen experience, you’ll take responsibility for your section, handle dietary requirements, and contribute ideas to keep the kitchen energized.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and relevant commercial kitchen experience.
• Experience as a Demi Chef or similar role.
• Passion for food and teamwork to deliver great dining experiences.
• Knowledge of dietary requirements and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality dishes to our resort standards.
• Taking responsibility for your section and ensuring smooth, efficient service.
• Working closely with the Chef de Partie and wider kitchen team to keep things running.
• Catering to dietary requirements with confidence, flexibility and care.
• Supporting and mentoring apprentices and junior kitchen team members.
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Contributing ideas, energy and creativity to a kitchen that’s always striving to deliver its best.

• A solid understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures
• Knowledge of dietary requirements, allergies and intolerances, with the ability to prepare and plate meals safely
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic and desire to keep developing your culinary skills
