Great Ocean Road Brewing in Torquay is seeking a Demi Chef to join the Torquay Taphouse kitchen. The role covers all aspects of culinary operations in a high-volume environment, contributing to an outstanding dining experience that complements our award-winning craft beers.

The successful candidate will have a Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery, with experience in a fast-paced kitchen, and a passion for teamwork, cleanliness and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery required.
• Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Strong pride in the quality of your work.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and standards.
• Mise en Place: Set up and organize stations before service.
• Station Maintenance: Keep station clean and organized.
• Order Management: Ensure timely preparation during service.
• Ingredient Handling: Proper handling, storage and labelling of ingredients.
• Team Coordination: Work with other kitchen staff.
• Quality Control: Ensure presentation and taste meet standards.
• Clean-Up: Assist with post-service cleaning.
