Job summary

Stamford Plaza Brisbane is seeking an enthusiastic Demi Chef / Chef de Partie to join our dynamic kitchen team. You will assist the Head Chef with high‑quality food production while upholding consistency, productivity and first‑class standards at all times.

You will prepare mise‑en‑place, follow standard recipes, monitor freshness, adhere to HACCP and hotel policies, and contribute to a seamless guest dining experience through teamwork and reliable shifts.

Qualifications

• Formal training in commercial cookery or equivalent.
• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mise-en-place for designated station.
• Prepare all menu items according to standard recipes.
• Check food rotation to ensure freshness.
• Adhere to hotel policies and procedures.
• Meet health and hygiene requirements and cleanliness.
• Ensure seamless guest experience through prompt service.
• Maintain appropriate par stock levels for daily operations.

About The Role

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Demi Chef / Chef de Partie to join our dynamic kitchen team at Stamford Plaza Brisbane. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef and the other members of the Kitchen with the food production whilst ensuring quality, consistency, productivity and high standards at all times.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Preparing mise-en-place for your designated work station to ensure the smooth running of service
• Prepare all food items in accordance with standard recipes
• Check food rotation to ensure freshness of all food products
• Adhering to the Hotel policies and procedures
• Meet all health and hygiene requirements and cleanliness
• Ensuring a seamless Guest experience through prompt and efficient food service
• Maintain appropriate par stock levels to support daily operations

Skills And Experience

• An Australian recognised Trade or relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery
• Previous experience of at least one year in a similar role
• The ability to work in a fast paced kitchen
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
• Team Player
• Ability to work on rotating shifts across 7 days
• A proactive approach to system improvements
• Knowledge of HACCP and relevant food safety accreditation
