Job summary

Pullman Cairns International is seeking a motivated Demi Chef to join our culinary team. You’ll work across restaurant and Banquets, supporting daily operations, preparing dishes and delivering high-quality food to brand standards.

Join a five-star kitchen within the Accor network, with opportunities to grow skills and progress across events, conferences and weddings in Tropical North Queensland.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualifications or experience as a Demi Chef.
• Experience in a hotel, restaurant or high-volume kitchen preferred.
• A genuine passion for food and developing culinary skills.
• Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Strong organisation and time management skills.
• A positive, team-focused attitude.
• The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
• Work across restaurant and Banquets service.
• Prepare and present high-quality dishes to brand standards.
• Take responsibility for your section during service.
• Assist with conferences, functions and special events.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation.
• Support stock rotation, waste control and kitchen organisation.
