Job summary

Goulburn's Best Pty Ltd in Goulburn’s Best Cafe is seeking a Demi Chef to support breakfast, lunch and dinner service, working with the Chef to prepare and cook a variety of dishes to a high standard. You will handle food prep, stock checks, presentation and plating, while maintaining cleanliness and efficiency during busy periods.

Minimum 1 year of kitchen experience and a Certificate IV in Commercial Cooking are required, with strong knowledge of food safety practices and excellent

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Chef in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner in accordance with the menu and established recipes.
• Prepare and cook assigned dishes to the required standards of quality, taste, consistency and presentation.
• Preparation of speciality and in-house menu items, including accommodating reasonable customer requests and dietary requirements.
• Support daily kitchen operations by carrying out food preparation duties, handling ingredients correctly and keeping work areas organised and efficient.
• Support daily stock handling by checking, organising and storing ingredients and supplies under the direction of the Chef.
• Monitor the quality and freshness of ingredients and report any issues.
• Plate and garnish prepared dishes according to the business’s presentation and portioning requirements.
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure food is prepared and served efficiently during busy service periods.
