Job summary

Crystalbrook Flynn is seeking a Demi Chef to join a kitchen team that values craft, fresh ideas and delivering memorable dining experiences. You’ll contribute to a culture of hospitality and culinary excellence in a fast-paced setting.

You will be hands-on across preparation, cooking and plating, under the guidance of the Chef de Partie, with opportunities to sharpen your skills, share ideas and collaborate on service with pride and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Strong cooking and plating fundamentals.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Calm, organised under busy service.

The Opportunity

Bring your passion for food, creative flair and appetite for learning to Crystalbrook Flynn. As a Demi Chef, you will join a kitchen team that takes pride in its craft, welcomes fresh ideas and knows great service is a shared effort.

Working alongside the Chef de Partie, you will be hands-on across preparation, cooking and plating, bringing flavour, care and consistency to every dish. With experienced chefs around you, there is room to sharpen your skills, contribute your ideas and help create dining experiences that give our guests something to talk about.

Along the way, you will champion the kitchen essentials: safe food practices, thoughtful use of ingredients and less waste. It is all part of bringing our approach to responsible luxury to the table.

This opportunity available on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Talent

You take pride in your craft and enjoy the shared effort behind a successful service. Confident with the fundamentals and curious to keep learning, you welcome feedback, contribute ideas and bring care to both your cooking and the people around you.

You will bring:

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, with sound preparation, cooking and plating skills.
• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent qualification.
• An eye for flavour, presentation and the details that make a dish memorable.
• A strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and safe work practices.
• A calm, organised approach and the ability to maintain quality during busy service periods.
• Clear communication and a willingness to support and learn from your colleagues.
• Respect for ingredients and a mindful approach to reducing food waste.
• Availability across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
