Job summary

IAG Defence & National Security is seeking experienced Project Officers to join a national security program in Canberra. This APS5-equivalent role focuses on the operational side of project delivery, under limited supervision of a Project Manager, handling administrative and technical activities.

OSA clearance and DISP membership may be required depending on team. There are 3 positions available; remote work is limited by environment and engagement may include on-site duties with occasional

Qualifications

• Ability to complete ASD's Organisation Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to commencement
• APS5-equivalent experience level
• Experience supporting the use of existing project methods and tools, including configuring and documenting them within a known context
• Experience supporting project or programme control boards, project assurance teams and quality review activities
• Experience using project control solutions for planning, scheduling and tracking projects
• Experience defining, documenting and executing small projects or sub-projects, applying appropriate project management methods and tools
• Ability to agree project approach with stakeholders and prepare realistic project plans, including scope, schedule, quality, risk and communication plans

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparations for project test, evaluation and acceptance programs
• Apply project management methodologies to administrative and technical activities
• Research, draft and prepare briefs, correspondence and reports, including submissions for committee consideration
• Maintain project financial records under the limited supervision of the Project Manager
• Support programme or project control boards, project assurance teams and quality review meetings
• Use and recommend project control solutions for planning, scheduling and tracking projects
• Set up and provide guidance on project management software, procedures, processes, tools and techniques
• Define, document and execute small projects or sub-projects, working alone or within a small team
• Identify, assess and manage project risks effectively, monitoring costs, time, quality and resources against agreed tolerances
