Job summary

Nixil Pty in Canberra is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the Defence High Frequency Communications System (DHFCS). You will join the CJC10 engineering team, provide technical advice, maintain documentation and help manage risks and deliverables for sustaining and improving this capability.

You will develop and maintain the CJC10 engineering documentation suite, review contracts, and provide engineering feedback to implement the DHFCS capability.

Qualifications

• Chartered Professional Engineer status or ability to attain it.
• A tertiary qualification in Systems Engineering, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of ODCS.
• Experience with ASDEFCON.
• Leadership or management experience; coach teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.
• NV1 Security Clearance required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the CJC10 engineering documentation suite.
• Provide formal engineering advice across product engineering activities and relevant contracts.
• Exercise engineering delegations as authorised and maintain technical risks.
• Review contract deliverables and provide engineering feedback to support implementation of the DHFCS capability.
• Work with the broader product team to provide engineering input across technical disciplines.
• Coordinate engineering workshops and support the development of team members.
• Ensure engineering processes comply with the applicable Quality Management System.
