Job summary

Downer Professional Services in Canberra seeks a Systems Engineer to deliver engineering advice and manage risks for Defence High Frequency Communications System projects. You will work with the CJC10 Product Team across disciplines and maintain engineering documentation in support of DHFCS capability.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status or the ability to attain it, plus a Systems Engineering background and leadership experience within Defence projects.

Qualifications

• Chartered Professional Engineer status or able to attain chartered status.
• Tertiary qualification in Systems Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in leadership and coaching teams in strategy and change.
• Knowledge of ASDEFCON and Defence policy is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide formal engineering advice across all contracts and product engineering activities.
• Exercise engineering delegation issued by the Chief Engineer and manage technical risks.
• Review contract deliverables to support the DHFCS capability implementation.
• Collaborate with the CJC10 Product Team to provide input across disciplines.
• Develop and maintain the CJC10 Engineering Documentation suite.
