Job summary

LiveHire Limited in Canberra seeks a senior HF engineering leader to drive design analysis, integration and assurance across the enhanced defence capability.

NV1 clearance is required, with experience reviewing drawings, developing design reports, and guiding governance activities. Chartered engineer status or eligibility is highly regarded, along with ODCS/ASDEFCON knowledge and leadership experience.

Job description

NV1 security Clearance required.

You’ll provide technical leadership across engineering design, integration, assurance and delivery of the enhanced capability.

The role

• Lead HF system design analysis and performance evaluation.
• Review engineering drawings, schematics, technical documentation and contractor deliverables, providing clear advice to support implementation.
• Develop and maintain design reports, test procedures, technical assessments and the JP9101 engineering documentation suite.
• Support subsystem integration, verification, validation and troubleshooting against system requirements.
• Contribute technical advice to design reviews, working groups and engineering governance activities.
• Exercise authorised engineering delegation and maintain oversight of technical risks.
• Work across project disciplines, facilitate engineering workshops and ensure processes and documentation comply with the IC3SPO Quality Management System.

What you’ll bring

• Extensive HF engineering expertise across system design, analysis and performance evaluation.
• Tertiary qualifications in Communications Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Chartered Professional Engineer status with a recognised professional engineering body, such as Engineers Australia, or the ability to attain it.
• Knowledge of and experience with the One Defence Capability System (ODCS) and the ASDEFCON suite.
• Leadership or management experience, including the ability to coach teams through strategy and change.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Defence stakeholders, project teams and external vendors.

Experience delivering Defence or CASG capability projects will be highly regarded, as will knowledge of Defence policy and legislation, capability delivery requirements, and working in multidisciplinary technical teams.
