Job summary

L3Harris Australia is seeking a Systems Engineer to lead and perform systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle for complex Defence capability projects. You will ensure requirements are coherent, verifiable, and aligned with customer needs, joining a team of 5 engineers reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager.

The role requires a degree in electronic or electrical engineering, 4+ years in systems engineering, and current NV1 Defence clearance or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• Degree in electronic/electrical engineering or similar discipline.
• 4+ years in a System Engineering role.
• Current Defence security clearance (NV1) or willing to obtain.
• Experience with Defence acquisition programs.
• Knowledge of MBSE and systems architecture frameworks is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering processes across the lifecycle to deliver timely project outcomes.
• Perform requirements analysis, decomposition, allocation, traceability, and verification planning.
• Develop and maintain system architecture, interfaces, and verification evidence.
• Support integration, test readiness, verification, and customer acceptance activities.
• Coordinate with safety, security, cyber, reliability, and other disciplines.
