Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the creation and review of contracted engineering outputs for underwater range tracking capabilities and shore facilities. You will collaborate with Software, V&V, Safety, Cyber, CM & ILS teams and interact with customers as needed, with occasional travel required.

Responsibilities include engineering documentation across the lifecycle, shaping system definitions and architectures, and applying DfX principles to optimise cost,

Qualifications

• Demonstrated relevant experience in the Systems Engineering Lifecycle.
• Able and willing to obtain and hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1
• Defence industry experience preferred
• Degree in Communications/Electrical/Electronics/Systems Engineering or similar
• Development of specifications, requirements, design, and test procedures
• Knowledge of the operation of communications equipment and systems.

• Support the technical solutions (systems definition, design and architecture) through the project lifecycle to optimise cost, schedule and quality.

About The Role

The Systems Engineer supports the creation and review of contracted engineering outputs involved in delivering fixed/deployable underwater range tracking capabilities and associated shore facilities. The Systems Engineer will have to collaborate with the Software, V&V, Safety, Cyber, Configuration Management & ILS functions to deliver these artefacts.

The Systems Engineer will need to be comfortable and confident representing the company by working with system designers/suppliers and the client/customer community to provide timely and accurate engineering advice. Occasional travel to customer locations is required.

Your remit will be as broad as it is challenging. Key responsibilities may include but not be limited to; support the production and delivery of engineering documentation across the project lifecycle; support the technical solutions (systems definition, design and architecture) through the project/program lifecycle that best optimise cost, schedule and quality; Consideration of design for “X” principles such as design for testing, maintenance and support.
