Job summary

Projects Assured is seeking an experienced Program/Project Financial Officer to support a Defence portfolio for a 6‑month engagement in Canberra. You will provide financial management and advisory services across roughly 15 projects and collaborate with senior Defence stakeholders.

The role requires strong budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills, with an emphasis on governance and high‑quality financial insights. An active NV1 clearance is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Experience in project, program, or portfolio financial management within complex environments.
• Ability to analyse, report, budget, and forecast for multiple projects.
• Experience presenting financial information to senior stakeholders.
• Clear communication and effective stakeholder engagement skills.
• Defence or Federal Government environment experience is highly regarded.
• An active NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial advice and support across approximately 15 projects throughout all phases of the ODCS lifecycle.
• Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports covering acquisition, sustainment, and operating budgets.
• Manage key financial activities including bi-annual, sustainment, and mid-year reviews, budget phasing, and cross‑level transfers.
• Monitor project financial performance and support budget planning and forecasting activities.
• Contribute to effective financial governance and reporting outcomes across the portfolio.
