Job summary

Chandler Macleod is seeking a Delivery project Support Officer for a 12-month assignment in Canberra. You will support strategic planning, force design, and capability integration for Army and Defence programs, advising senior stakeholders with high‑quality strategic guidance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience supporting Defence programs, force design, capability development or strategic planning activities.
• Strong understanding of Defence capability, communications systems, information systems, or integrated capability environments.
• Excellent written communication skills, including experience preparing strategic documents, reports and briefings.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work with military, APS and industry stakeholders.
• Experience analysing complex information and providing strategic recommendations.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
• Ability to interpret technical and operational information and communicate it clearly to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of LC4ISREW strategic plans and operational planning products.
• Assist in the development of concepts of operation, concepts of employment and capability planning documentation.
• Analyse Defence strategic guidance and assess impacts on future Land capability requirements.
• Provide force design and strategic analysis to support informed capability planning and decision‑making.
• Review and coordinate capability planning activities across multiple Defence programs and capability streams.
• Monitor and analyse dependencies between Land, Joint, Air Force, Navy and Defence projects.
• Prepare strategic briefs, reports, presentations and recommendations for senior Defence stakeholders.
• Support governance, planning and stakeholder engagement activities across Army Headquarters.
• Assist in translating complex technical and military information into clear strategic advice.
• Contribute to capability lifecycle planning, investment decisions and future force design initiatives.
