Job summary

Torres Strait Regional Council (TSIRC) is seeking a Council Cleaner for Division 2, Dauan Island. The role offers part-time, permanent employment at 18 hours per week with the potential to grow within TSIRC’s values-driven team.

You will perform routine and detailed cleaning duties to maintain safe, sanitary, and welcoming Council facilities, accommodation, and amenities, contributing to a positive community environment for staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year practical experience in industrial cleaning.
• Knowledge of cleaning products and safe chemical use.
• Workplace health and safety awareness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Class C Drivers Licence desirable.
• Applicants who do not address these requirements will not be considered for shortlisting.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent cleaning services across Council facilities.
• Maintain hygienic, safe, and welcoming environments.
• Follow cleaning schedules and detail routines.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely.
• Support accommodation and amenities cleaning.
