Job summary

Torres Strait Island Regional Council is seeking a Council Cleaner to join the team at Dauan Island. The role is part-time (18 hours per week, Monday to Friday) with six weeks of annual leave and uniforms provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year practical experience and/or knowledge in industrial cleaning procedures and techniques and materials used.
• Knowledge of cleaning products and safe chemical use.
• Workplace health and safety awareness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Class C Drivers Licence would be highly desirable.
• Strong ability to follow instructions and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent and high-quality cleaning services for Council facilities, contributing to a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment.
• Ensure that Council workplaces, accommodation, amenities, and other facilities are maintained in a clean, tidy, and hygienic condition.
• Perform routine and detailed cleaning duties efficiently and effectively.

As a Cleaner, you will provide consistent and high-quality cleaning services for Council facilities, contributing to a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for the community and staff. You will ensure that Council workplaces, accommodation, amenities, and other facilities are maintained in a clean, tidy, and hygienic condition.
