Job summary

Torres Strait Regional Council (TSIRC) is seeking a Council Cleaner for Division 2, Dauan Island. The role offers part-time, permanent employment at 18 hours per week with the potential to grow within TSIRC’s values-driven team.

You will perform routine and detailed cleaning duties to maintain safe, sanitary, and welcoming Council facilities, accommodation, and amenities, contributing to a positive community environment for staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year practical experience in industrial cleaning.
• Knowledge of cleaning products and safe chemical use.
• Workplace health and safety awareness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Class C Drivers Licence desirable.

About the role:

As a Cleaner, you will provide consistent and high-quality cleaning services for Council facilities, contributing to a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for the community and staff. You will ensure that Council workplaces, accommodation, amenities, and other facilities are maintained in a clean, tidy, and hygienic condition. Your role supports the delivery of a safe and usable environment for staff and visitors by performing routine and detailed cleaning duties efficiently and effectively.

• Minimum 1 year practical experience and/or knowledge in industrial cleaning procedures and techniques and materials used.
• Knowledge of cleaning products and safe chemical use.

• Class C Drivers Licence would be highly desirable.
• Strong ability to follow instructions and attention to detail.
