Job summary

NSW Department of Customer Service is seeking a Project Officer - Data Readiness in Parramatta to lead licensing data preparation for migration to Licence NSW. You will analyse legacy data, map to the new model, and drive cleansing and validation to ensure a successful go-live.

The role sits in NSW Fair Trading and supports a complex government platform transition. The position is temporary full time, Hybrid work is available, and the salary is $116,981–$129,492 plus superannuation.

Qualifications

• Experience analysing, profiling or mapping data between systems, ideally as part of a system migration or replacement.
• Methodical approach to solving problems, reconciling data and finding root causes.
• Project coordination skills including planning, tracking progress and managing risks.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including explaining data matters to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in testing or user acceptance testing, including writing test cases and managing defects.
• Understanding how data quality affects customers and frontline staff and commitment to getting it right.

Responsibilities

• Analyse data in the legacy licensing system to understand structure, quality and meaning.
• Map source data to the new platform’s data model and confirm transformation rules.
• Profile data quality, identify gaps, duplicates and inconsistencies and recommend cleansing.
• Plan, prioritise and track data cleansing activities and support team members.
• Support trial and final data migrations, reconciling record counts and key values.
• Test migrated data to confirm it is complete and accurate and log defects.
