Job summary

EY Australia is seeking a hands-on Manager to lead the Oceania Data Office delivery, governance, and lifecycle practices, partnering across Risk, Information Security, Technology and global teams.

As Data Office Manager, you will align regional priorities, support Dataguard readiness, and embed clear data ownership, stewardship, and standards. This role offers flexible hours and the ability to work from EY offices across Australia.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering data management, governance, risk or compliance initiatives in a large organisation.
• Understanding of data protection risks and controls, including AI data flows and cloud/storage
• Strong stakeholder, change and communication skills across business, technology, risk and leadership audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support the Oceania Data Office to establish and maintain clear data ownership, stewardship, classification, quality, access and lifecycle practices across the region.
• Support Oceania and global Data Office initiatives, including Data Management capability uplift, AI‑ready data, Synthetic Data and the adoption of common data standards, frameworks and tools.
• Work with the Global Data Office, other regions, Service Lines and Risk teams to align priorities, share good practice and deliver our data and risk objectives.
• Strengthen Data Office delivery by coordinating stakeholders and helping establish sustainable business‑as‑usual practices and reporting.
• Support the regional delivery of Dataguard by coordinating with Risk, Information Security, Technology, Service Lines and global teams on readiness, communications, adoption, escalation and ongoing ownership.
• Identify emerging data protection risks and opportunities to enhance controls, supporting control‑related initiatives as they arise and providing leadership with a clear view of impacts, readiness and residual exposure.
