Job summary

Westpac is seeking a hands-on Electrical/HVAC tradesperson to join a critical tier 3 data centre operations team. You’ll manage building systems including diesel generators, UPS, BMS, cooling towers, and related equipment, with a rotating 38‑hour week across a 6‑week roster.

You will monitor all systems, supervise contractors, perform switching operations, and ensure safety and compliance. Strong fault-finding, teamwork and the ability to work under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• Electrical or HVAC trade qualifications (AU/NZ) required.
• Experience with critical environments or data centres advantageous.
• Strong fault-finding and safety-process skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure no unplanned downtime of critical building services.
• Monitor and operate building systems and plant.
• Manage onsite contractors, inductions, permits and qualifications.
• Carry out complex switching operations and lockout/tagout.
• Conduct load reviews and generate reports.
• Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental and statutory obligations.
