Job summary

Talent Partnership seeks an experienced facilities technician for a data centre environment. You will supervise maintenance across mechanical, electrical and fire systems, ensuring continuous operation and rapid response to faults.

A trade background in electrical or HVAC, exposure to data centres, and on-call, rotating shifts are essential. You will operate BMS/EMS and CMMS tools to monitor conditions, log work, and coordinate repairs with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Trade background in electrical or HVAC is required.
• First Aid qualification is required, including electrical first aid.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate preventative maintenance across mechanical, electrical and fire equipment.
• Manage critical infrastructure to guarantee continuity of services with no disruption to operations.
• Use electronic monitoring systems to track site conditions, respond to alerts and review generator reports.
• Act as the primary technical troubleshooter for critical services issues.
• Conduct daily site reviews and regular testing of technical services infrastructure.
• Respond to service requests and emergency faults, repairing systems directly or with supplier and contractor support.
• Communicate risks and estimated repair timelines to internal teams.
• Log completed maintenance reports into the CMMS and follow up on any issues identified.
• Enforce safe work practices in line with company policy and regulated standards.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to junior staff

What you'll be doing

What you'll bring

• A trade background in electrical or HVAC, or proven critical facilities experience,
• Data centre exposure is a plus but not essential,
• Comfort with working a rotational 24/7 shift roster and being available for on-call remote support,
• Experience operating Building Management Systems (BMS) or Energy Management Systems (EMS),
• Familiarity with a CMMS for logging and tracking maintenance work,
• A First Aid qualification, including a solid understanding of electrical first aid,
• Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain an NV1 Security Clearance,
• or NZ citizenship/PR with the ability to obtain an NZ Security Clearance
