Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center IT Support Engineer to install and troubleshoot the infrastructure that supports the AWS cloud. You will work with logistics and other teams to maintain daily operations in our Melbourne data centers, contributing to one of the world's largest computing infrastructures.

The role focuses on hardware and networking, Linux server issues, and adherence to safety guidelines, with shift work including nights on a 4 on/4 off cycle and on-site rack

Qualifications

• 1+ years hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
• 1+ years networking experience.
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle to travel between sites.
• Ability to lift and rack equipment.

Responsibilities

• Escalation point and technical troubleshooter for all Systems and problems.
• Deep diving into Linux server issues.
• Remediation of physical layer outages, both Systems & Network.
• Remediation or recovery of physical power issues on racks and participate in Data Center power & cooling events.
• Shift work (4 days on and 4 days off including night shifts on a rotational basis).
• Install & configure racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs.
• Triage & resolve trouble tickets for all devices in your region.
• Physical replacement of server and network device parts.
• Ensure correct rotation of parts & spares.
• Enforcing Amazons Security Best Practices
