Job summary

Department of Corrections NT invites an experienced leader to become Deputy Superintendent, Security and Intelligence, relocating to Darwin. You will drive governance, oversee security and intelligence functions, and lead strategic initiatives across NT Corrections.

The role requires senior operational leadership, change management and strong stakeholder engagement; travel to correctional centres across the Territory is required. Relocation assistance provided.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in custodial or complex operational environments.
• Proven ability to lead organisational change and implement policies and improvements.
• Strong knowledge of correctional operations, sentence management, and programs for people in custody.
• Understanding of the criminal justice system and contemporary correctional practice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement across service streams.

Responsibilities

• Lead territory-wide initiatives strengthening correctional security, intelligence and governance.
• Support centres to implement consistent system-wide practices and frameworks across the Northern Territory.
• Coordinate reviews and assessments relating to security, incidents and performance.
• Build relationships with correctional agencies and stakeholders across Australia.
• Support innovation, change management and service enhancements to reduce risk.
• Provide strategic advice on operational risks and best-practice approaches.
