Job summary

The Department of Corrections Northern Territory is seeking a Deputy Superintendent, Security and Intelligence to relocate to Darwin and lead security and intelligence across NT Corrections. You will support governance, drive improvements and provide strategic leadership on risks and trends.

You will coordinate initiatives, engage with stakeholders, and travel across the Territory to ensure consistent operations and contemporary practices in correctional services.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience within custodial or similarly complex operational environments.
• Proven capability leading organisational change and implementing policies, procedures and operational improvements.
• Experience managing projects, people, resources and prioritising operational workloads.
• Strong knowledge of correctional operations, sentence management and services for people in custody.
• Understanding of the criminal justice system and contemporary correctional practice.
• High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead territory-wide initiatives that strengthen correctional security, intelligence and governance.
• Support correctional centres to implement consistent system-wide operational practices and frameworks.
• Coordinate reviews and assessments relating to security, intelligence, incidents and operational performance.
• Build productive relationships with correctional agencies and stakeholders across Australia to identify trends and best practice.
• Support innovation, change management and service enhancement initiatives to strengthen governance and reduce risk.
• Provide strategic advice and leadership on emerging operational risks and best-practice approaches across NT Corrections.
