Job summary

Department of Corrections NT in Darwin is seeking a Deputy Superintendent, Security and Intelligence to lead territory-wide security and governance across NT Corrections. The role focuses on strategic oversight, consistent operating frameworks, and strengthening operational performance across centres.

You will drive change, engage with stakeholders, and provide expert advice on risks and best practices, with relocation support for interstate candidates.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in custodial or complex operational environments.
• Experience leading organisational change and implementing policies, procedures and improvements.
• Proven ability to manage projects, people, resources and priorities.
• Strong knowledge of correctional operations, sentence management, programs and services for people in custody.
• Understanding of the criminal justice system and contemporary correctional practice.
• High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead territory-wide initiatives that strengthen correctional security, intelligence and governance.
• Support centres to implement consistent system-wide practices and frameworks.
• Coordinate reviews and assessments relating to security, incidents and performance.
• Build productive relationships with correctional agencies and stakeholders across Australia.
• Support innovation, change management and service enhancement initiatives to reduce risk.
• Provide strategic advice and leadership on emerging operational risks and best practices across NT Corrections.
