Job summary

Archer Daniels Midland Company seeks an Associate Scientist for Product Development in the Sweet Goods & Dairy sector. Based in Heidelberg, you will work on innovative concepts for dairy and ice cream, manage customer projects end-to-end, and collaborate with global teams to deliver new products.

The role requires a degree in Food Science/Technology or Dairy Science, hands-on food industry experience, and strong English and German skills. Travel and agile collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Graduated in Food Science, Food Technology, Dairy Science or a comparable field.
• Relevant experience in the food industry.
• Solid expertise in fruit preparations, dairy and ice cream applications.
• Strong interest in product development, nutrition and food trends.

Responsibilities

• You are part of an international team of product developers and develop innovative concepts and recipes for semi-finished and finished products for national and international customers in the Sweet Goods & Dairy sector (focus on dairy and ice cream).
• You independently manage customer projects from initial concept through to final product launch.
• You drive and support cross-functional initiatives and collaborative project teams.
• You maintain a strong customer focus, including participation in customer meetings.
• You act as a technical point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders (e.g. Sales).
• You prepare samples and evaluate products based on sensory and physical properties.
• You ensure proper product documentation and carry out data analysis.
