Job summary

ADM is seeking a Scientist in Product Development Beverage at our Heidelberg location. You will drive innovative beverage concepts, manage projects from concept to launch, and work with global customers and cross-functional teams to translate insights into market-ready products.

We value strong formulation expertise, materials knowledge, and a proactive, independent work style, with fluency in English and German to collaborate internationally.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutrition Science or Food Chemistry or equivalent.
• Experience in product development, ideally in beverages.
• Passion for innovation and developing new product concepts.
• Strong understanding of raw materials and their interactions in complex formulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop beverage and nutrition solutions for national and international customers.
• Lead product development projects from concept to market launch.
• Create formulations and optimize taste, functionality and quality.
• Collaborate with international customers and cross-functional teams.
• Lead lab trials, sensory evaluations, and analytics.
• Present progress and results to stakeholders and customers.

What would be your key responsibilities

• You develop innovative beverage and nutrition solutions that delight our national and international customers
• You manage exciting product development projects from initial concept through to successful market launch
• You create new formulations and optimize existing products with regard to taste, functionality, and quality
• You collaborate closely with international customers and cross-functional teams to drive project success
• You serve as a trusted technical expert for product innovations and complex development challenges
• You plan and conduct laboratory trials, sensory evaluations, and analytical assessments, translating findings into actionable recommendations
• You actively contribute new ideas to innovation and customer projects and help shape future-oriented product concepts
• You present development progress and project results to internal stakeholders and customers
• You take ownership of projects and ensure their successful execution together with the team
• You contribute to the strategic development of your area of responsibility
• You lead cross-functional initiatives to advance technologies, processes, and ways of working
• You achieve results through effective communication, coordination, and collaboration across multiple functions
• You ensure compliance with quality, hygiene, and safety standards and promote best practices within the organization
• You play an active role in shaping the nutrition and taste experiences of tomorrow

What will make you successful

• You successfully gratuated in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutrition Science, Food Chemistry, or a comparable field
• You have proven experience in product development, ideally within the beverage industry
• You are passionate about innovation, emerging trends, and developing new product concepts
• You possess a strong understanding of raw materials, ingredients, and their interactions within complex formulations
• You work independently, in a structured manner, and demonstrate a high level of initiative
• You enjoy taking ownership and proactively driving projects forward
• You have strong analytical skills and a creative approach to solving complex challenges
• You communicate confidently and effectively with customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
• You are proficient in common software applications, have a strong affinity for technology, and are comfortable researching and evaluating information
• You think outside the box and naturally embrace agile ways of working
• You have excellent German and English language skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively in an international environment
• You hold a valid European work permit
