This is your opportunity to build deep expertise, deliver high-impact outcomes, and grow your career in a fast-paced, future-focused environment.

At AusNet, collaboration, innovation, and professional development are at the core of everything we do. With strong mentorship and clear pathways for advancement across Cyber GRC and the broader cybersecurity landscape, you’ll be empowered to make a real difference.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll deliver meaningful outcomes across a range of responsibilities, including:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Supporting internal and external audits with expert recommendations to address cyber risks and compliance gaps.
  • Assisting in cybersecurity maturity assessments and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Managing a compliance assurance calendar to ensure timely completion of key activities.
  • Conducting control and compliance assurance activities to verify adherence to cybersecurity standards.
  • Maintaining a central repository for GRC documentation to support audit readiness.

You don’t need to tick every box, but we’re looking for a strong mix of:

  • A collaborative mindset, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn in a fast-moving field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in Cyber GRC.
  • Solid understanding of security controls across tools and technologies, backed by hands-on experience in security operations.
  • Familiarity with frameworks and standards such as NIST RMF, AESCSF, and NIST 800-53.
  • Experience in both IT and OT environments, ideally within the utilities sector.
  • Proven ability in cyber governance, risk assessments, policy development, and controls testing.
  • Experience with GRC platforms like ServiceNow or Archer.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Emergency Response: Customers and community are at the heart of everything we do.

From time-to-time you may be called upon to support an emergency response (e.g. storms, bushfires, floods) to ensure we continue to safely deliver our customers’ energy needs.

A real place to belong.

We celebrate unique voices, refreshing perspectives and diversity in our team. Engage and connect through our social club, family day, wide range of events or by joining one of our Employee Network Groups.

We believe in more than just competitive pay. Here’s what sets us apart:

  • Flexibility: whether this is hybrid work, flexible hours, or part time arrangements, we’ll work with you to help balance work and life.
  • Leave: more than typical personal leave and a generous 14 weeks of paid parental leave, with no minimum service.
  • Community giving: a paid day to volunteer with our social impact partner, Foodbank, or for a cause that matters to you.
  • Perks: we offer all the other perks you’ve come to expect like purchased leave, income protection insurance, novated leasing, corporate discounts, private health cover discounts and more.

As an industry in transformation, we’re excited by the possibilities ahead.
