Our client, an entertainment pioneer fusing hyper-real virtual production with next-gen gameplay, is building something that pushes the limits of what immersive gaming can be.

Job Overview

Are you ready to architect the backbone of a next-generation iGaming platform redefining real-time entertainment?

We’re looking for talented, fascinated developers who are ready to take their Unreal Engine skills to the next level.

We’re not just writing codes; we’re engineering the future of immersive entertainment. As our Senior Backend Developer, you'll be the technical cornerstone of our ambitious vision, crafting the robust systems that bring our cutting-edge gaming universe to life.

What will you do?

• Collaborate effectively with Creative, IT, Production, and Mocap teams.
• Self-manage daily workload, organising and delivering progress updates to teams.
• Develop, manage, and optimise backend solutions, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for code and Blueprint nodes to assist team onboarding.
• Develop robust systems utilising Blueprint, Composure, and Widget (elements/ UI) interfaces that are scalable and executable in a package
• Create auto IP addresses to packages
• Work with Live Link.
• Work with video inputs (SDI input cards including Black Magic, AJA, Genlock, Timecodes).
• Oversee and enhance database integration between frontend and backend systems.
• Implement runtime save/load systems.
• Provide expert-level debugging, performance optimization, memory management, and crash-log analysis.
• Develop backend solutions using C++, including custom plugins.
• Integrate and manipulate motion capture data within Unreal Engine.
• Work with motion capture systems (Vicon, Xsens, OptiTrack, Move.AI, Rokoko, etc.).
  
  

What are we looking for?

• 6-10+ years of professional experience with Unreal Engine.
• Advanced expertise in Unreal Engine's Blueprint scripting system.
• Proven experience with Live Link, Composure, Widget creation, and UI development.
• Proficiency in backend C++ programming.
• Significant experience with performance optimization, debugging, and system testing.
• Self-starter with a willingness to expand your understanding of the role and take on new responsibilities as your skill set increases.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Practical industry experience is mandatory; no formal university degree required.
• Certifications in Game Development and/or Virtual Production are highly valued.
• Must provide a professional portfolio showcasing relevant technical projects or contributions.
  
  

What additional skills will help you standout?

• Expertise in material creation (learnt through composure use) in Unreal Engine.
• Expert experience with motion capture workflows and data integration.
• Intermediate proficiency in Digital Content Creation tools (Photoshop, Blender, 3DS Max, etc.).
• Python scripting knowledge is a plus.
