Job summary

Northern Grampians Shire Council is seeking a part-time Customer Support Officer to join the friendly Customer Support team in Stawell. You will be the first contact for customers across in-person, phone and electronic channels, providing professional assistance and directing them to the right services.

This role offers a positive, flexible work environment with opportunities to learn about Council operations and develop strong customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Customer service experience in busy environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Council services and how departments work together is helpful.
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to handle varied daily tasks with a positive attitude.

Package: $71613.43 per annum pro rata - $36.24 per hour

Job Description

Customer Support Officer

As a Customer Support Officer, you'll be the first point of contact for many of our customers, providing friendly, professional assistance across a wide range of Council services. You'll respond to enquiries in person, over the phone and electronically, helping to connect customers with the information and services they need while creating a positive experience with every interaction.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys helping people and takes pride in delivering friendly, professional customer service.
  • Is an excellent communicator who can confidently engage with a wide range of people, whether face-to-face, over the phone or in writing.
  • Builds positive relationships with customers and colleagues through empathy, patience and a genuine willingness to assist.
  • Is comfortable using computers and enjoys learning new systems and technology.
  • Can stay organised, manage competing priorities and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
  • Takes initiative, works well as part of a team and is always willing to lend a hand.

It would be great if you also:

  • Have previous customer service experience in a busy environment.
  • Have a good understanding of Council services, departments and how they work together to support our community.
  • Are flexible, adaptable and enjoy variety in your day.
  • Are curious, eager to learn and committed to continuously improving the customer experience.
