About the role

We are seeking a Customer Service/Bakers Assistant to join our team at Hastings St Bakery in Noosa Heads. This is a casual position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic hospitality environment. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service whilst assisting management with day-to-day operations. You will be the friendly face of our bakery, ensuring every customer leaves with a smile, whilst supporting the team to maintain our high standards of service and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide efficient, courteous service at the counter
• Process customer transactions accurately using our point-of-sale system
• Assist with taking orders and answering customer inquiries about our products and offerings
• Support management with operational tasks such as stock rotation, display management and cleanliness standards
• Handle customer complaints professionally and escalat[e] issues to management when necessary
• Maintain a clean and organised customer-facing area at all times
• Assist with light administrative duties as directed by management
• Support team members to ensure smooth service during busy periods
• Collaborate with the bakery team to ensure product availability and presentation standards are met

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in customer service or hospitality roles is highly desirable
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for helping others
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Basic proficiency with point-of-sale systems or willingness to learn quickly
• A positive, friendly demeanour and genuine interest in delivering exceptional service
• Flexibility to work casual hours, including weekends and peak periods
• Reliability and punctuality in meeting scheduled shiftsAbility to work both independently and as part of a team
• Food handling knowledge or willingness to obtain certification is an advantage
